The Town House is available to see all year round

The Roman Town House is an ideal site for an educational visit. A guided tour and associated activities can be booked through the Dorset County Museum.
During the Dorchester Roman Festival special activities for schools will be available at the Roman Town House. Please note that these will be for pre-booked groups only and the Town House will not be available for other group visits on 20 and 21 May 2010. For more information visit the Roman Revels page
We provide educational resources for use in the classroom through the Dorset County Schools Library Service. An artefact loan box is available.
The Romans Artefact Box
The box contains a range of small items reflecting life in a Roman Town House over the period that the Dorchester house was occupied. Some of the items are very similar to artefacts found at the site while others are of a more general nature. As well as the artefacts the box contains two "try on" costumes one male and one female and there is also a resource for creating a small mosaic.
The box can be borrowed for two weeks at the cost of £30.
Families and children can have fun at the Town House too. A Children’s Guide is available, as a free insert with the official guidebook, and look out for our special events.

Teachers will need to make their own visit to the Roman Town House to devise a risk assessment for their students.
